My Students

My students are of a mixed population and of immigrant families. We are also a Title I school. The students are very eager to learn and enjoy listening and reading great stories. A number of students are from non English speaking families and the only time they read is upon entering my classroom at school.

My students look forward to coming to school where they can use the technology and books that the school provides.

They have the desire to be their best and that's incredible. These students sometimes come to school unprepared for learning and the school has to provide the tools they need to learn.

My school has 98 percent of students on free and reduced lunch. Students at my school rely on the school to provide breakfast and lunch daily.

Despite all the challenges facing my students every day, I believe it is my duty to provide them with a plethora of knowledge that they will need to one day give back to their community in a meaningful way.

My Project

My project will give my 2nd-grade students a variety of nonfiction magazines with a lot of information that they will enjoy and love. These magazines will help strengthen my student's reading skills and give them fun and engaging materials to read with so many colorful photographs.

I like to expose my students to current events and interesting materials for them to read and interact with.

This magazine provides all of that. It has interesting science and social studies facts that will capture the students' attention. The short videos are incredible in the way connect with the topics in the magazines.
