News Flash! Students Enjoy Reading Magazines About Science and News!

Help me give my students some magazines about science and news events so that they can learn the joy of reading from paper as well as their online studies.

My Students

The kids haven't set foot in a library since they were quarantined in March and they could not be more excited about reading!! I have over 500 students K-6 at my school and they are so excited to be back in the classrooms, and especially the library! They have been washing their hands to come into the library and diligently wearing their masks. They have felt a lot of anticipation about getting to choose a book and take it home to read.

With some of our schooling being done via the internet, online and remote learning, I am very anxious to put an actual book back in their hands.

The library is a place of discovery, where students can learn and connect by touching, reading, observing, listening, and yes sometimes even smelling!! I have given students some challenging projects, and they have exceeded my expectations!

My Project

The materials in this project will help the students learn how to read a magazine article about the news and science. My library is full of books, but because of COVID, we had to get rid of all the old used magazines and periodicals we carried. It is essential for young minds to have as many reading opportunities as possible. The more diversity I can give them in reading options the better! The students spend all day in front of a computer screen. Please help me restock my shelves with these wonderful periodicals for students!!
