This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class consists of 28 International Newcomers. The rugs will allow the students to sit in close proximity to me and to one another.
The accessibility of a rug will allow them to partner share with one another and encourage conversations.
Sitting at their desks they are too far from me and one another. I don't have enough desks in my classroom so the carpet allows for extra seating. The rug will allow me to split my groups into 2. One group will work at a small table with me and the other group will work on the rug with my teacher assistant.
