My Project
I teach third grade at a charter school that embraces experiential learning, student-centered instruction, and learning outside the classroom with a major focus on PBL (project based learning). My students are truly amazing! With only one class per grade level, the number of students that I can have in my class each year can fluctuate anywhere from 10-20 students. Because of this, the tables I have now do not allow for a lot of collaborative work that provides adequate space for working or for doing other activities around the room when my number of students grows.
These new tables will create a collaborative friendly environment that helps develop critical social skills needed while also giving us an adequate space for group/partner work and other activities in the classroom.
Besides being able to set up my classroom for collaborative learning, these new tables will also provide the flexibility to change the way our classroom is set up to help ensure that all of my students have adequate space to learn and thrive!
