Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fifth grade students are extremely hard workers and always come to my class with a love for learning. Although it is very hard adjusting to a new grade, new friends, and new curriculum, I want to help create spaces in my classroom for students to feel independent and successful in their learning. I want to start the year on the right foot and refresh some materials, flexible learning options that will help my students to feel comfortable and continue to grow in their academics and social-emotional growth.

The materials I am requesting for my students to continue their success are headphones, pencils and whiteboard erasers to have easy access to materials as students move from place to place throughout the day for reading and math groups, support, etc.

A new filing cabinet to store all math center activities and other materials for students.

Rolling desk/chair for those students who may need to work in an area other than their desk to best meet their needs as a learner. This can also be used in the "cool down" corner to support students' social-emotional needs throughout the day. New lap desks to support students who need to learn/work in an environment away from standard classroom furniture. Chairs on wheels to support students' learning styles that may better be suited for movement either at a desk or table work.
