This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a proud 6th grade teacher who is ready to begin a new, exciting position! I am happy to continue teaching in my hometown. However, I work in a district which experiences budget cuts and a lack of resources. The majority of my students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch.

My happy, colorful and inviting classroom will continue to provide a safe haven for my diverse, resilient and amazing students.

My students have a natural love and curiosity for learning. Although this upcoming school year is going to look quite different, I want students to continue to look forward to coming to school each day. I want to continue to encourage them and find ways to foster a love of learning.

My Project

The materials in my project will be used to help make learning interesting for my students. Many of the items I selected will be used to create a hands-on learning environment, particularly during math.

I'm ready to jump right in and begin a new position at a new school!

The supplies that I am asking for will be used by my students in creative ways. Dominoes, cards, dice and other hands-on materials are used to increase engagement and bring the math curriculum to life. I will need a new easel for my classroom to help students create neat and organized guided notes. With an easel, we will work together to create diagrams/pictures, solve problems, record our questions/thinking, create graphic organizers, etc. Please help us bring our learning to life!
