This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is very hard to convince students to read when they are not interested in the material given to them. That is why I am asking students what they want to read can yield the best results. Find out what they want and they will read it!
We have seen that students really like to read graphic novels, so that is what we want on our shelves.
Series like Lore Olympus and Heartstopper have really engaged students, so we want to continue to purchase those books and more. We hope that there will be more student buy-in when we have independent reading. This way, we hope to get even more students involved in reading.
