Help me give my students relatable, exciting books for our new classroom library!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Pereira's classroom raised $250
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. My students are all different types of learners and have various backgrounds. I have students who do not speak English, students with disabilities, and some students who are homeless.
I teach at a Title I school in New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive food and clothing from the school's charity drives. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
These books will be the start of our new classroom library. The students have missed the feel of holding and reading a real book in their hands, these new books will bring that feeling back and get the students excited to read and learn.
For this coming school year, I am moving into a classroom that doesn't have a classroom library already in there.
These books will be the building blocks to help our library get started. We need any many books as possible on various reading levels to get the students excited about reading.
