Help me give my students some great new books to start the school year! We will be using these books to kick off our writer's workshop as well as build our classroom community with books about friendship.
My first graders are curious and creative little people! We are learning and laughing together every day in beautiful Colorado.
We need new books to inspire a love for reading and learning!
I have chosen several titles to help inspire us! We will read many of these books to discover how and where writers get ideas, and what it means to be a writer as we start the year. We will also read many titles about kindness, friendship, and inclusion to create a classroom environment where every kiddo can thrive and learn!
My Project
We can't wait to start the new school year! Our first writing unit is all about kicking off the writing workshop. I have selected several picture book titles that will help teach my students about the writing process. The Best Story Ever, and Arthur Writes a story are books about what writer's do. One Day The End is a great title about how writers need to add details to make a story fun to read.
We can't wait to dig into amazing titles about friendship, kindness and a growth mindset!
Titles like Recess Queen are a great way to teach my first graders about kindness on the playground. The Book of Mistakes, and Ish are great books about the power of mistakes and how we grow and learn from our mistakes.
