My Students
"I grew 2 levels," a student exclaimed. Students cannot wait to share their growth with their peers and teachers at our school. Our students attend a zoned school in East Nashville where 100% receive free lunch. All students walk or are driven to school, and parents and families are eager to be a part of our community!
My students are full of love!
I cannot wait to see each of their faces in the morning. Everyday we start with literacy centers, go to specials (yoga, gym, music, or math intervention), whole group reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Every day they grow socially and academically to be their best self.
My Project
In this project our class is requesting a 50 book collection with books at lower F & P levels. The students coming into my class are coming at all different levels and I want to be able to meet their needs. Last year we got a ton of books at the levels my students were at in the middle of the year, but we didn't get any lower level books. If this project is funded, I will be able to implement guided reading early with books students are interested in and that help them grow quickly. Many students in my class have 5-10 levels to grow before they are on grade level so I'd love to start off strong and get them to love reading early with these great books!
