My Students
I teach fourth grade in a Title I school. My leaders are full of life and always ready to explore and learn. I am a teacher in a low income/high poverty area. Many of my students come from a single parent household and receive free lunch. Because of these challenges, these students do not always have the necessary items they need to succeed in school. As a teacher, I can not control these students home life, but I do have a say in what students have at school.
My Project
One of the best parts of starting a new school year is all the new school supplies you get. New backpacks, new notebooks, and new pencils. New school supplies always get you excited to start the year! Now think about if you had brand new books to read too! New books get students very excited to read!
With new books, I hope to get students excited to read.
In the past when our class gets a new book, there will be a line for students to read the book. Also with new books students can practice different reading strategies that we have been working on in class. With new books you can open a whole new world to a child!
