My Students
My school is a Title I school, with most of my students living in poverty. My students are loving and hardworking, yet unfortunately, they face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. I'm inspired by my students as they show great perseverance no matter the challenges they face. They come to school ready to take in the day's educational adventures. Because most of my students come from low-income families, the majority of the items (ranging from basic school supplies to books to facial tissues and more) are supplied by me.
Many of my students have never been to a structured environment setting before, so I'm excited to provide them with the most fun and warm learning environment that I can.
My Project
My students come from homes that lack the basic supplies we take for granted. With this project, I will be able to provide some of my families with the everyday resources needed to have a warm and comforting school year. They will be given household items and supplies to be used at home and at school.
As a teacher, It pains me to see my students come to school hungry.
During snack time, I have to provide them with their own snack. It becomes overwhelming to feed 22 students daily using my own funds, but I want to ensure that no child goes hungry and they have all they need to succeed and learn at school.
Finally, I want to show up as the best possible teacher for my students because that is what they deserve. I want them to enjoy coming to school, knowing the day will be filled with fun and joy. I am requesting holiday and calming classroom decor to make my classroom learning environment uplifting and joyful.
