This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we approach the halfway point in the school year, the collection of supplies that we started the school year off with has begun to dwindle. The supplies requested in this project will help us to pick right back up with the great work we have been doing all year.
Many of the supplies included in this project are items that are used daily in my fourth grade classroom to keep my students engaged and organized.
My students love using whiteboards for our daily math lessons. They are a great way to keep my students engaged and to ensure all students are held accountable for their work during whole-group lessons. The class set of white boards and dry erase markers will ensure that these supplies can be utilized and easily accessed during the school day.
Other items included in this project like pencil sharpeners, dry erase pouches, glue sticks, and erasers are items that are frequently used in my classroom. Having access to these materials will ensure my students have what they need to fully participate in lessons. I plan to use the kick bands for students that have a difficult time focusing in class, and the automatic pencil sharpener will be a game-changer. The pencil sharpener I have now takes a very long time to sharpen pencils and the persistent noise of it is distracting to my students. This sharpener automatically detects when the pencil is sharp and spits it out.
