My Students
Our high school is a college prep public high school within the School District of Philadelphia. Students complete course work towards college and University including Advanced Placement courses .
Our day starts the earliest of any of the School District of Philadelphia High Schools (7:15) and we boast one of the higher daily attendance rates of secondary schools in the District.
These students are here because of their strong devotion to education and the places it can led them.
Frequently, our students lack basic resources in the classroom which creates a disadvantage when they compete with other students across the country in higher education. The concepts discussed within our Social Studies classroom lead students to higher order and conceptual thinking. One of our basic concepts is understanding power and how it's distributed is a fundamental idea essential for all Americans.
My Project
These textbooks are redesigned to accommodate the changed in Advanced Placement United States Government and Politics.
This course is critical to the development of our students as engaged citizens who are participating in our vibrant democracy.
The new texts would offer greater opportunities for students to engage in materials outside the classroom and provide a wider range of source for their studies.
I hope to offer students an opportunity to understand the government and its systems. The course is a unique opportunity for students to learn at a college level and should have a textbook which suits their exposure to elevated rigor.
