My Students

As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school every day ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.

Many of my students have a difficult time secure the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.

For this reason, my projects on Donor's Choose are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.

My Project

In order to become effective and efficient readers, students need to read level appropriate materials on a daily basis. These books will provide the resources that my students need in order for their reading skills to progress.

A classroom library is an essential component to the curriculum for elementary school students.

This project will allow me to provide my students with a variety of reading materials on their levels that they will use daily. Without access to a classroom library, my students will be unable to build upon and enhance their reading skills. This library not only provides them with books to read, but also provides books at the various reading levels the children in my classroom are working on. This system allows them to read books that are within their skill level but still challenge them to continue to improve.

Literacy is an essential building block to success and regular access to appropriate reading materials will set up my students for a school year full of achievement.
