New Teacher Requesting Essential Classroom Materials!
My students need basic classroom supplies such as a pencil sharpener, a globe, and a paper trimmer to reinforce their current learning in the classroom.
I am a brand new 4th grade teacher in a high poverty school. My school is considered Title 1, thus a majority of my students receive free or reduced lunches. My students are primarily English Learners, and it's difficult for my students to receive academic assistance at home.
As a new teacher, there are so many resources that I'd like to provide my students, however these resources are very costly. I am only given an allotted amount of money each year, and since this is my first year, it will go very quickly! I am requesting supplies that my students will benefit from on a daily basis.
I am requesting a Globe, because every classroom needs one of these, particularly when discussing history! My students often do not travel outside of our city, thus their concept of the world is limited. I am requesting a paper cutter, primarily there are numerous activities througout the day that require this particular product. By having it in the classroom, I would be able to quickly use it throughout the day with ease. In addition to this, I am requesting 1" chart paper. This is an important resource since I have so many English Learners. I will use this chart paper to write down our key vocabulary, definitions, parts of speech, and so on. This will be an excellent reference tool for all of my students to see. Lastly, but most importantly, I am requesting a pencil sharpener. My students need to be prepared to learn, but they cannot do so without a pencil sharpener that is heavy duty and will last the entire school year!
