My Project

I am trying to create a classroom from scratch as a public school teacher with limited resources. I am starting with nothing. I want to bring things into the room to create a welcoming environment for students to come and learn each day. There are many essentials that I need to make this a functioning classroom.

I have a big class of 2nd graders...very big!

28 students. For this age group many missed several years due to COVID-19 and really need extra support.

Reading is our main need and focus in 2nd grade, and at this time, I do not have a classroom library. I have been collecting books on my own. I am asking for book bins to hold these books in so my students can access them in a organized manner, and also be able to keep books at their desks for reading time.

I know they missed out on schooling for a few years due to COVID-19. I want to make learning exciting for them. It takes a lot to keep their attention in the class as they have spent too much time on computers and screens. Im trying to provide a lot of hands-on activities and incentives to motivate which is why I have listed many items that will be essential. I am in need of hands-on reading games. I also offer a school store as an incentive and will need items to stock the school store.

Art!! Art is so vital to student confidence! I have no art supplies and I am responsible for also providing art, so I have asked for many art materials so that I can begin offering this.
