New Tables for Our Library!

My Students

I am the school librarian to many enthusiastic learners! My students visit the library once a week with their classes and, during their 40 minute library sessions, they participate in learning activities and book selection.

Our school library is an exciting, active place where students read, research, and create.

During our weekly library instructional sessions students learn and practice many valuable information literacy skills to help them grow as independent readers and information seekers.

Learning activities include lessons about different books and authors, research projects, and library scavenger hunts. We also love to connect with people around the world through Skype chats with authors and classrooms in different states and countries.

My Project

Our school library is a place of learning! Every week, each class participates in an engaging, exciting activity to help build their skills as lifelong readers and information seekers.

With this project, I am hoping to make our library instructional area more engaging and interactive by replacing our existing tables with new, markerboard top tables.

These new tables will help make learning activities for collaborative and exciting for our students, particularly when they are working together on small group projects and are brainstorming ideas.

Due to the generosity of many donors last year, the book side of our library was greatly improved by the addition of many beautiful new bookcases. Now I would love to have our learning area upgraded as well to help make our library an even more engaging, exciting space for our learners!
