My Project

I teach at a Title I school in which 76% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. About 40% of my students are English Language Learners (ELL).

Although many of my students face adversity, their challenges do not define their ability to learn and be successful students.

My students enjoy reading books, learning new math skills, and writing stories. They are literally like sponges and soak up every new skill that is introduced to them. Their desire to learn despite the obstacles they often face is nothing short of amazing! I want to provide a safe, nurturing, engaging, and challenging learning environment for my students during one of the most important years of their school experience. As a Kindergarten teacher, it is my responsibility to provide an enriching foundation for my students to help them to be successful in their future years of schooling.

To help prepare for a new school, I am in need of seat pockets to help students keep their materials organized and easily accessible. Card stock paper and colorful pens are needed for Writer's Workshop and arts and crafts projects. New supplies will get students excited for a new school year! In addition, these resources will allow me the opportunity to create additional engaging and hands-on activities to make learning more fun!

By supporting this project, you can help instill a lifelong love of learning in my students. In addition, your support will help me provide my students with the learning experiences that each of them need to be prepared for first grade.
