My students need healthy snacks such as popcorn, apple chips, kind bars and nut blends. We also need picture frames, book bags, activity books and mice repellents.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently have 25 six- and seven-year-old students in my classroom. I am teaching first graders in a Title I school, located in a high poverty and high crime area of Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken. I have three special education students and two ESL (English as a Second Language) students in my classroom. Several of the students in my classroom have an in-class social worker.
My Project
We have recently gotten a few new students to our classroom.
My new students need new book bags and first grade activity books.
My other students have already received these materials.
We could also use some more healthy snacks such as popcorn, kind bars, apple crisps and nut blends. I try to give my students a snack every afternoon and also a snack to take home.
We would also love to have a few more picture frames to display our classroom photos.
Lastly, we need mice repellents to keep rodents far far away.
They seem to have a party in our classroom every night.
