Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing 2nd grade bilingual students that need me to be the best teacher I can be. Spanish is typically the language spoken at home and our students often translate and help their parents to understand the things they learn in school every day.

As a bilingual student myself, I can relate to them and provide that compassion and support that they need.

Parents have instilled my students with a desire to want to learn and share experiences, life, and hardships with their family within the classroom. Even though my bilingual students have many disadvantages in their lives, they work hard every day at acquiring new and strengthening their vocabulary in the English language.

My Project

Every child is an individual with unique strengths and needs. Because of this, my instruction needs to be customized and tailored to each of my specific student's needs. The requested resources will add to my collection of skills that I need to best meet the individual needs of each of my bilingual students. The books will help me deliver specific lessons in small groups. Since time is limited, the specific strategies that I will learn from these books will help me use the time during small group instruction more efficiently and effectively. Moreover, the skills covered in the books cover a broad range of learners.
