This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hi there! I am an art teacher at a Title I school in Frederick, Maryland. That means that most of our student population come from low-income families and qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. This also means that they often don't have the resources to acquire certain luxuries that other families may be used to.
I teach Pre Kindergarten- 5th grade, and my students always come into my art room excited and ready to try new things.
A lot of my students are ELL (English language learners) which means they know very little English or none at all; this qualifies them to be in a special program while some are in both English learners as well as special education . I always try to find new projects that will inspire and encourage my students' creativity and imagination. My student's love to impress and get verification that they are doing the right thing during a project.
My Project
Thank you for considering our project! Right now in our art room we have very old stools. These stools are literally falling apart and have easily broken while students are sitting on them. This causes an extremely unsafe classroom environment as I and the kids never know when it will happen. We are running out of seating for our students because so many stools have broken beyond repair. Please help us get some new and safe stools for our students so that they can have the best art experience possible. Thank You! :) <3
