Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic, bright, and excited to be at school and learning. The community is low-income and high poverty and do not go to preschool. Every child in the school receives free breakfast and lunch at the school. A large population are not native English speakers and we work hard to teach them their numbers and letter sounds. In this classroom, we work hard on including others, resolving conflicts, and doing hard things. Character development is just as important as learning how to read and write.
My Project
My Students are in a low-income community school and really love to learn. They need more books in the classroom so that they can learn to love reading and feel confident with the level library book set. Having the high frequency books will help to build their confidence in reading as they memorize those and see them in text. They have also implemented a new Science Core and would love the fun forces of motion kit! Kindergarten students also get distracted really easily and would benefit from the partitions to keep them focused on their work! Thank you so much for donating to our classroom!
