New School, New Needs!

My students need a library of math manipulatives, magnetic numbers and puzzles for our new classroom.

My Students

Second graders love hands on activities! Don't we all? In order for my students to really grasp (pun intended) new math concepts, they need to have manipulatives to use for station work and group activities.

Actually, I don't know who my students are yet!

My school is brand new (opening in August) so I haven't had the opportunity to meet my new little darlings. Students from all economic backgrounds need a strong mathematical foundation, so these manipulatives will help them all.

My Project

My students are coming from 1st grade into a whole new "Math World". They will have two teachers this year (Language Arts and then Math/Science) so I want to be able to make their time in my math class EXTRA fun. The items that I selected are bright and colorful and will make my students feel like they are just playing games when in actuality they are learning core math concepts. I call that a Win-Win situation!

Students have to really buy in to what you are teaching in order to really understand what is being taught.

Having fun math activities for them will really help them remember these concepts forever.
