This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I moved districts and am teaching 3rd grade at a new school. I teach two classes of 26 students (52 total this year) at a dual language elementary school. They are almost all completely bilingual in both Spanish and English and they amaze me every day! They are a very creative bunch so I'm asking for fun art supplies like markers, watercolors and watercolor paper, and colored paper to bring their creativity to life! I will use printer paper for homework, spelling, and writing activities. The erasers will help our pencils last longer. In addition to this, my new classroom is missing some basic supplies so that every child can have their own materials.

My students are awesome and deserve an organized and fully stocked classroom!

We've been sharing and making it work, but every child deserves to have their own materials. We have been taking turns doing math on whiteboards so I don't get to see all students abilities at once and a few more will change that. They've been taking turns with scissors during a variety of projects and this is not time efficient. Many books are not out on shelves because there are not enough bins, and we haven't used colored pencils yet because they are unorganized in a large box in the cabinet. Thank you in advance for your help completing our classroom needs and expanding my students horizons!
