My Project

Hi there! My name is Chelsea Clark. I work at the absolute BEST elementary school in all the land. We have an amazing staff, but even better students! Last year, we were blessed with a brand new elementary school. Our students, staff, families, and community deserved this opportunity. We were fortunate to be super involved throughout the entire planning and design process. Our students even got to design t-shirts for the construction workers, have lunch with them, and host them as guest readers in their classrooms. After almost two years of no playground and activity field, our students FINALLY got not one, but two brand new playgrounds! Students (and staff) were SO grateful to be able to go down a slide again, hang from monkey bars, and play soccer during recess. One of our playgrounds is a dedicated space for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Our larger playground is for 1st grade - 4th grade. Of course, with a brand new playground, our students played HARD! We divide our recesses up by equipment color, i.e., Kindergarten gets the orange equipment. This helped to ensure that all grade levels had equal access to equipment, but even then, much of our recess equipment didn't make it through the year and/or had to be replaced midyear.

Our hope is to be able to give students brand new recess equipment (soccer balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, basketballs, scooters, etc.) to start the 25-26 school year!
