New Playground Experience for Students With Autism
Help me give my students a fun playground experience full of opportunities for cooperative play with the playhouse, pretend food and seesaw, gross motor skills with the scooters, safety with the helmets, and movement with the trampoline.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are exceptional. They overcome challenges every day that we often may take for granted. They want to be social, smart, and able to play in a playground that is suited for their needs. The new playhouse and playground equipment will provide opportunities for my students to better develop their gross motor skills under shade, cooperative play with a playhouse, imagination, balance, jumping, safety awareness with helmets, responsibility, and help them generalize these skills beyond the playground and into their homes. They love bubbles. This playground equipment will create a new fun playground experience from a blank blacktop to an accessible space.
