Help me give my students an electric pencil sharpener, erasers, and a CD/DVD external drive so they can listen to audiobooks and on our laptops and watch educational films.
I teach twenty-five happy and excited-to-learn third graders, and all day long they have fun growing and thinking, and trying their best. Our school is a wonderful, small multicultural school located in Los Angeles. Over 32% of the students at our school qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and everyone receives free breakfast. Our school specializes in integrating art and technology with our academic subjects. My students learn best when I generate excitement for learning.
Having a new pencil sharpener and enough supplies to create and work on projects means that my students can explore, learn, and have fun too!
My Project
Yesterday, one of my students asked me if I could write a DonorsChoose.org project because our electric pencil sharpener no longer works. I was really touched by his request because it reminded me of how DonorsChoose.org has been a blessing to bring in resources for my students, the school, and our school garden. Thank you DonorsChoose.org for being a wonderful part of our lives.
Besides a pencil sharpener, I have also requested erasers and an external CD Drive/DVD player because many of the MacBook laptops in our classroom can't play CDs or DVD's.
With this player, my students will be able to listen to audiobooks or watch educational DVD's.
