My project needs several different non fiction books and a nonfiction learning center.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Keller's classroom raised $258
This project is fully funded
I teach 18 energetic third grade students along the coast of South Carolina. My students are very eager to learn and seem to remember almost everything that they can get their hands on.
We do not have very many nonfiction books available to read in our classroom library. The more practice a child gets reading nonfiction, the more he will be able to understand what is involved with nonfiction type of reading. The reading standards in South Carolina involve a great deal of nonfiction type objectives. The students have to have the experience reading different types of nonfiction books in order to be able to master these skills. They are exposed to nonfiction material daily during math, social studies and science inquiries, but students truly enjoy reading material that they have selected on their own.
Therefore, a classroom library with many different types of nonfiction materials available will greatly benefit third grade students and increase their love of reading!
My class of 18 third graders would greatly appreciate it if you would consider helping make nonfiction books available in their classroom library, thus increasing the reading level of another successful group of third graders!
