This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a band director, I am looking to fill up my music library with different genres of music so that my students can have repertoire for the spring and future concerts. For the past few years, my students have played, practically, the same music. Now, because I have students who are overly zealous to play their instruments, I feel it necessary to increase their library of music, and their knowledge through the different genres they will be playing. As they obtain these different genres, they will learn the different characteristics of each piece, from the major musical scales they will need to know, along with the stories behind each piece of music.

The overall goal for my musicians is for them to have confidence while playing their respective instruments.

The music will also keep them practicing so they can get better over time.
