This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am trying to create a classroom in which my students feel comfortable, safe, and confident enough to learn the mathematical skills that are the foundation to their future in education, as well as in life. The students prefer working in a cool and calm environment, which is why I included floor lamps and cool colored decor. My class is currently filled with 34 desks and to improve the learning of all students in the room, I'd like to get rid of my teachers desk to make more space across the room, therefore, I included a new filing cabinet and rolling cabinet in this project wish list. In my class we like to use lots of colors in our guided notes, so ample colored pencils are always needed!
These children, who are being raised in one the highest rates of poverty in the state, deserve the best learning environment that I can possibly give them.
