This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are driven, hardworking and inquisitive, which is why we strive to use their interests to continue developing their skills.
Our school is located in the south-central Bronx area in New York City.
Over 95% of the school receives free lunches. We pride ourselves on developing students to become critical thinkers that can excel in the 21st century. Our mission is to help students find their passion, and we can only accomplish it by providing experiences that inspire them.
My Project
Purchasing full sets of microscopes for students is nearly impossible with their high costs . Proscopes will allow students to reap the same benefits of a microscope at a fraction of the cost.
Proscopes will allow my students to be informed global citizens.
With this tool, students can actually use the proscopes on the go to do real world analysis of the microscopic world around them! We have been doing extensive research on the Bronx River and this tool will allow them to discover the micro-organisms that exist but aren't visible with the naked eye.
Students will be able to take nature walks, IN THE CITY, and actually see things from a new perspective.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
