Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
During computer time, the students can't get the cursor in the right place as the mouse just won't cooperate! We need mice that move when they're supposed to so students can utilize computer time to its fullest when searching college and career options.
The students come from a low, socio-economic area and many are at a financial disadvantage due to a variety of circumstances.
Our Title 1 school needs to provide equal computer and internet access to all students to ensure they learn technology and the options that internet access can provide to them. These options include searching for colleges, admission requirements, and tuition costs. Good working computers will also allow students of all ages to research career options and the skills and schooling needed for these careers. Computer time is a coveted time at the school and often students become frustrated because the computer mice just don't work.
My Project
New mice will eliminate the time wasted searching for and cleaning mice that are just worn out! Our computers are nearly 10 years old and so are the mice. Both need to be replaced but at this point we need to do what we can. Let's start with a quick fix and get the mice moving. With mice that work, students will be able to spend more time on the computer doing remedial and enrichment programs, searching and exploring college and career options, as well as day to day practice that requires a mouse that works.
Whether it's one mouse or many mice, we're in need of these tailed attachments.
Our computers need new mice in order to provide students with technology that works. If we look at the big picture, we need new computers but if we look at making usage manageable, then mice will fix the problem. Help us get the mice we need to keep our computers usable so students can discover that college is within their reach and they can have a career that is important to them.
