Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing littles in a high poverty area. Our school currently does not have a library so I created a reading oasis in my room.
My students love visiting our library, but some of the students are reading at a level that is higher than most.
I would like to add to our library a volume of books for my high level students to enjoy.
My Project
In our classroom we have a growing library. So many of the kiddos aren’t able to covid it their local library so our classroom library is the next best thing. They love spending time reading and browsing our books. I want them to continue to develop their reading skills, interest in new content and a love for reading. With new books in our library I can ensure my students are immersed in learning and their literacy skills develop. This will help them in all subjects now and in their bright futures.
