My students love our classroom ambiance. We do not use the overhead fluorescent lights at all as they are bright and give us headaches. I currently have two floor lamps and after 8 years they have seen better days.
We need new floor lamps for our space as ours are falling apart in pieces.
Floor lamps in our small space make the lighting "just right".
Lighting that is too dim can cause difficulties in learning, like affecting brain focus and visual clarity when reading. It also can lower psychological well-being over time. Conversely, lighting that is overly bright and fluorescent was shown to contribute to off task behavior and making hyperactive behavior worse.
