Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 2025/2026 school year will be my first year teaching kindergarten. I previously taught 4th grade and SAI, so most of my teaching supplies are not age-appropriate for kindergarten students. I would love to provide my new students with a fun, engaging, and organized classroom where they can learn, play, and grow. The items I have added to my wishlist were selected to support students with learning organizational and AVID skills, while also creating an environment where students can develop social skills, friendships, and creativity through play. The rolling carts will be used to help organize materials for each table group. The storage pouches will be given to each student so that they are able to take home completed assignments, permission slips, flyers, and library books without losing them. The toy kitchen, toy BBQ, and toy workbench will be placed in the play areas of the classroom for students to use during free time and indoor recess on inclement weather days. In selecting these particular play items, I was trying to think of which items would include the most students, while helping to spark creativity and facilitate positive peer interactions. Myself and another teacher will be sharing a classroom to teach an AM class and a PM class, which means our classroom will be serving more students than the usual all-day classrooms. By donating to my project, you will be supporting students at a Title I school who will greatly appreciate these items. Thank you for considering my project!
