My students need backpacks to hold all of the materials and journals they use during the day.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st Century learners, who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 30 curious, fourth grade scientists in a small, Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn, and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible.
I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children, that they have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
In my classroom, students sit at round tables. This is awesome for cooperative and collaborative group work, but where so they keep their supplies? The back packs in this proposal are the answer!
My students are engaged in hands-on inquiry based STEM activities and rotate to and between interactive centers daily.
Because the classroom is setup consists of round tables, my students do not have a place to store the materials they use the most: observation journals, science equipment, writing utensils, just to name a few. The backpacks requested are an excellent way for my students to store their things and take them with them as needed from center to center. Having them will help my classroom flow seamlessly from activity to activity, and my students will always have the materials they need, no matter where they are sitting!
