My students need equipment such as mats, a scooter and a variety of sports balls to have all the opportunities, fun and success possible.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the gym. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things exciting in physical education.
My students are eager to learn new physical activities and sports.
They are very energetic and eager to participate in all types of sports and activities.
They like to move, they are eager to learn and they love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the gym, I focus on their potential and growth. I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experience during their time in physical education.
My Project
The students will be very excited for all of the indoor and outdoor equipment. My students really like all the different colors and types of balls. They can now play indoor soccer when it is cold. They can also play four-square with each other. All of the balls will help allow all different ages to be able to play and have fun.
The portable clock will allow us to have timed activities and games.
The new tetherballs will be a huge hit with all ages.
I'm excited to introduce new and fun activities to all ages. I also love seeing the students smile when we get new fun equipment.
