This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The music program at LoMA has been growing steadily over the past few years, but we need new instruments for our students.
In particular, many students have asked about playing the flute, but we currently only have three flutes in fully playable condition.
We would love to offer the opportunity to play flute to more of our students who request it.
This year we started our Concert Band which performed several times throughout the year. Our flute section, consisting of four students, was strong, but there were several students who wanted to play but could not due to a lack of playable instruments at the school.
