New Drum Equipment Needed for a Developing Band Program
My students need new sticks, mallets, and drum heads to replace the old and beat up equipment they currently have!

My Students
My students absolutely love music. This love far outweighs any obstacles that may come their way. That said, imagine yourself, a talented musician playing on equipment that is beat up and better suited for the dumpster...how frustrating would that must be!
I teach a resilient bunch of kids.
They work to the best of their capability with the materials they are provided with. The energy they bring to class is infectious throughout the music program. It is absolutely wonderful to see their best brought out in music performance!
The best in my students is not just reflective of my band program, but of the school as a whole. Part of this is due to our unique school demographic. Our school is rich in diversity, allowing for numerous experiences in multicultural education. The demographics of our school speak very loudly. As of 2013, 31.4% of our students are Asian, 31.6% are Asian/Pacific Islander, 34.1% are African American, 16.6% are Hispanic, and 15% are White. 63.4% of our students are enrolled in the free/reduced price lunch program.
My Project
Just because they can make do doesn't mean they should have to. With this new equipment, I believe my students will perform their music with a renewed enthusiasm. We will also have extras of the requested equipment, in case we need to replace anything that wears down with age and usage.
Since we currently use old and damaged equipment, we are in need of a major upgrade.
