My Project
I am the new Electronics Technology Department Head. For the past (2) years, both Shop Department positions have been open & the shop has been struggling to get by with a pair of long-term substitutes. They did the best they could & put in more than the expected effort, nonetheless the shop has been falling behind & into a bit of disrepair.
I am currently working to revitalize our aging program, obtain new, current equipment, & excite our students to be in an active, engaging, & up-to-date shop environment.
Unfortunately, with no teacher at the head for so long, the students had started to feel left behind. When I started work this school year, it certainly was a boost to their morale & motivation, however having current equipment that is relevant to our curriculum like these (4) drones would be another huge step in the right direction.
Our curriculum includes robotics, automation, & drones; our students are expected to learn the function, piloting, & repair of drones as a potential career path in their futures. Up until this point, our class of (50) students across all (4) grades have been using my own personal drone to try to achieve these goals. Obtaining (4) drones (of a higher quality than my own single drone) for the shop & for our students would be a huge improvement & I appreciate consideration for this generous grant.
