Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten is a fun and exciting school year, and it is also an important year in young learners' lives! Most of our students have never been in any type of school setting, not even preschool! Creating a classroom environment that is organized, inviting, and bright is important! The 2025-2026 school year will be my 19th year of teaching! I will be moving to a new school within the Title I district that I have been teaching in for the last 13 years! I am excited to start a new adventure at a new school!
I am looking to get some classroom decor and essential items to help my students be successful, as well as feel welcomed in their new classroom environment!
I have chosen to go with a crayon theme for my new classroom! I have chosen some new bulletin board borders, name tags, a brightly colored calendar, and some math related posters for this reason! I am also looking to have glue sticks, dot markers, and large poster sized paper that is sticky on the back to utilize for anchor charts that students can reference as they are learning. Both the glue sticks and dot markers will be used during small group math and reading stations, as well as when we are able to do build art into our schedule!
