My students are my babies...I want the world for them!
I teach three and four-year-old students with disabilities in the inner city.
My students have a range of disabilities including autism, physical handicaps, and developmental delays. Ninety-nine percent of the student population receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. My students are inquisitive, energetic, and most importantly full of questions. They are future nurses, doctors, scientists, police, and leaders. I believe in every one of my students' future and want to provide a solid and supportive start to their education.
My Project
Each year I begin the school year with a 15 new bright eyed and ready to learn three and four-year-old students. The beginning of the school year is so exciting and a nice warm inviting classroom is essential. Having new carpet in my reading center and in my block center would add to the warmth and brightness of my classroom! Each year I try to clean the current carpet but of course having years of three and four-year-old fun, it's hard to get clean year after year. So this year I was really hoping to start the year when new carpet and give the classroom a little refresher.
