My Project
My students are kindergarteners who are learning to read and write. We do most of our learning using an easel to display big books, hold chart paper for writing instruction, and hold magnetic cards for spelling. The easel we currently use is not built for an elementary classroom. It falls over easily, causing books and our spelling cards to fall on the floor. It also lacks storage, meaning I have to have an additional space to store teaching materials, and need to stop teaching often to collect materials.
Having a central location to both teach and store materials would make our classroom run much more smoothly.
A new, sturdy, classroom specific easel would make teaching and learning much easier for us. I would be able to store big books and other teaching materials in the storage spaces, allowing me to teach without interruption and freeing additional space in the classroom for other purposes.
