This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a Title I school. Most of the students face many difficulties and challenges outside of school. Because these students face so many challenges, school is a place where they feel can comfortable and where they know they have people who care about them.
Every teacher and staff member works hard to ensure that every student is college and career ready.
This includes providing materials that they may not have access to, including technology. It is our goal to provide them with the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
Our students are absolutely amazing! They are motivated, determined, and excited about learning. We are constantly looking for new works of fiction and nonfiction to engage students and get them excited about reading.
This project will allow us to purchase new sets of class novels that are engaging and culturally relevant.
The titles range include examples of fiction and nonfiction. They include novels, a memoir, and stories written in verse. The titles range from classics to modern stories. These class sets of books will get our students excited about reading!
