This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious, brave, and inspire me every day. I am constantly learning from them, and the confidence that they build as time goes on. They are comfortable with who they are and also aspire to push themselves in ways that go beyond limitations. They are sweet, silly, curious, and are developing into aspirational leaders that want the best for themselves and others.
It is hard to consider what I do as a job because it is truly a part of who I am.
When told "those kids are lucky to have you," I think to myself "I am the lucky one."
My Project
My students are eager and yet excited to come back to school after all the changes and uncertainty that have been happening around them. My students are beginning the year with a first-year teacher excited and dedicated to building a classroom where students are included and advocates for their learning. Students will have a variety of materials that provides them to engage in a way that best fits them.
With these supplies students are able to engage in activities and lessons that go beyond memorization and into a world that excites them, helps them grow as critical learners, and puts smiles on their faces.
