Help me give my students some new books to read in the classroom library! Most of our students are coming in below grade level, due to the past year and a half of inconsistent schooling due to covid.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students from my ICT class live in a very poor, urban neighborhood with mostly immigrant families who speak little to no English at home. So, in addition to having students with learning disabilities, the majority of our students are also ENL learners. This makes gauging their interest in both reading and writing difficult to say the least.

However, there are still many students who come to school, willing and ready to learn, and we want to make sure we have adequate materials and books available in order for them to do so!

My Project

A lot of our students are entering 1st grade being below level in reading, due to inconsistencies in learning form the past year and a half due to COVID closures. Our classroom library is running low on these lower leveled readers, that our students will need access to, in order to have books that are appropriate for them to read.

Please help us refill our classroom library with new books that are grade level appropriate for our students!

They need new books to be able to take home and practice with so they can become better readers this school year!
