This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 4th grade Dual Language in a Title I school. My students are passionate about reading chapter books. My class needs new high interest books for a class book club. Book clubs are a great way to build community and develop a love for reading.

The benefits of a book club are endless.

A reading club will surely help them become better readers and build new relationships. It will also enrich their vocabulary, comprehension and conversation skills in Spanish. These books will keep them engaged during reading time and will foster discussions and critical thinking skills that will last a lifetime.
