My Project

My 5th grade students are passionate readers with big imaginations and curious minds. They light up when it’s time for read-alouds, dive deep into book discussions, and love getting lost in the pages of a good story. But our classroom library hasn’t had a proper refresh in a few years, and many of our well-loved books are worn or outdated.

With your support, we’ll be able to add a vibrant collection of guided reading sets, engaging nonfiction books about Westward Expansion, high-interest titles, and a few fresh class read-alouds that will captivate and challenge young minds.

These books will meet a wide range of reading levels, spark meaningful discussions, and deepen students’ understanding of historical topics—all while keeping their love for reading strong.

My goals for this project are to:

Reignite student excitement for independent and shared reading

Provide more targeted materials for small group reading instruction

Strengthen comprehension and critical thinking skills through engaging content

Create a classroom library that reflects the diverse interests and abilities of my readers

What makes my students special is their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. They are thoughtful, curious, and always up for a challenge. They deserve books that will inspire, empower, and help them grow as readers and thinkers.
