This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Displaying new and relevant books will make our library feel more current, and will encourage reluctant readers to browse all that is new and interesting in the Library. Due to staffing issues last year, our library was not open and new books were not purchased.

This year, we are promoting library visits, encouraging students to come into the library during lunch, and "book-talking" our students into reading.

New books are one of the best ways to attract new readers! Our book clubs and our district reading competition, "Battle of the Books", are great ways to engage our students in reading and discussing, articulating, and summarizing what they read.
